Acceptable use policy
Version 1 · effective 28 August 2026
This is an older version, kept for reference. Read the current version.
In plain words
Do not record people without the consent your local law requires, do not resell the software, and do not use managed inference to generate content that is illegal or abusive.
DRAFT: structure and required clauses only. This needs a human legal review pass before launch.
1. Recording consent
How-To Maker turns screen recordings into tutorials. You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by the law that applies where you are before recording a screen, a voice, or a person. This obligation is yours and cannot be delegated to us.
2. The software
You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute How-To Maker, share your account with other people, circumvent the device limit, or reverse engineer the software except where the law expressly permits it.
3. Managed inference
You may not use managed inference to generate content that is unlawful, that harasses or defames a person, that infringes someone else’s copyright, or that is designed to deceive. You may not resell access to managed inference or use it as a general purpose model API.
4. Fair use of the service
Automated or scripted use that is not a person making tutorials, attempts to extract the underlying model, and attempts to bypass metering are all prohibited.
5. Enforcement
We may suspend an account that breaches this policy. Where a breach is plainly accidental we will tell you about it before doing anything else.
